Dua Lipa replaces George Clooney in new Nespresso commercial

Nespresso has unveiled its newest face: world-famous singer Dua Lipa. The Swiss coffee capsule manufacturer, which is part of the Nestlé company, hired her in mid-March as its new brand ambassador, and has now officially launched a major promotional campaign with her.

The first commercial, about 30 seconds long, has recently been released, where Dua Lipa is shown trying different types of coffee and symbolically traveling to different countries around the world. The commercial takes her on a “journey” through different cultures and atmospheres, from New York, to Italy, to France.

The main message of the new campaign is that every cup of coffee is an invitation to discover something new.

At one point in the spot, Dua Lipa humorously “takes” George Clooney’s famous slogan: “What else?”, which for years was synonymous with Nespresso advertising. However, Clooney still remains part of the brand and also appears in the commercial with a brief guest appearance.

Nespresso aims to appeal to a younger audience through this new campaign and modern coffee trends. Dua Lipa, who has won three Grammy Awards and is one of the most popular artists in the world, is expected to bring a more contemporary image to the brand.

In this way, Nespresso is revamping its marketing strategy by pairing an old icon like George Clooney with a new global star like Dua Lipa.
