Yamal before the big match with Atletico: LeBron James is an example that can inspire us

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has told the media that his team can take inspiration from LeBron James’ example ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The Blaugrana will need to overturn a two-goal deficit at the Metropolitano to reach the semi-finals.
A meme circulated on social media over the weekend, showing Barcelona players wearing the same glasses as James before his team’s historic comeback to the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors from 0-3 down in 2016.
Lamine Yamal embraced this idea, changing his Instagram profile picture to the American legend.
“I think he is one of the references that can inspire us tomorrow, and that’s why I put him as my profile picture. I will think about how he did it and I hope it happens the same way. We have many players in the team and I am just one of them, I am not the only one,” he said.
Many eyes will be on the 18-year-old to lead Barcelona to victory as one of the most in-form players in attack. However, he does not seem intimidated by the responsibility.
“I’ve been lucky enough to have more responsibility since I was little and I don’t see it as a problem, but as an asset. The trust my teammates give me is invaluable,” he added.
“Fortunately I play for Barça and there are many high-quality players, world-class veterans who prove this every year. I don’t think everything depends on me. Even if it did, it wouldn’t stop me. We have many players who can change the game on their own, that’s why I have faith in the team,” said the Spaniard.
During the first half of the season, Yamal had problems with a groin injury (pubalgia), but now it seems to be completely over.
“I’m very excited. At the beginning of the season my level was very much in doubt due to pubalgia, and I like that these moments are coming because that’s when the real players emerge. I can’t wait for tomorrow,” Yamal continued.
“I feel very good. I’m motivated and I hope to make a difference. Let’s see if ‘Cholo’ does me a favor and puts me one on one with a player,” he revealed.
On many occasions, Yamal has expressed his admiration for Neymar and his desire to see him at the World Cup this summer in the US, Mexico and Canada.
“I’ve seen the 6-1 game many times, I’ve seen it live. Neymar was a big part of my childhood, he’s my idol and I’ll always be grateful to him for what he’s given to football. He inspires us all. You pay a ticket to see him and two or three days later you watch the game again just for his actions. I want to thank him for everything he’s given to football and I hope he’s at the World Cup,” he said.
So far this season, Lamine Yamal has played 43 games, scoring 22 goals and providing 18 assists. The young star is aiming to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second time in a row.
